25 January 2016 saw the 5th edition of the German Superyacht Conference take place in Hamburg. Teak deck specialist Wolz Nautic based in the Franconian town of Gaukönigshofen was again one of sponsors at this anniversary event.
This year too, the event was packed with top-notch speakers from the boat industry, and the team headed by the Boote Exclusiv publication's editor-in-chief Marcus Krall left nothing untried towards ensuring a worthy setting for the fifth birthday of the event. As in previous years, the result was a first-class conference and networking event in the "Elbkuppel" venue high above the rooftops of Hamburg.
In addition to many interesting lectures, the focus was on networking with industry insiders. A special highlight was undoubtedly the encounter and the intensive exchange of ideas and views with star designer Chris Bangle. The former chief designer at BMW, among other things responsible for the design of the Mini Cooper, Rolls Royce or other BMW models, gave a passionate lecture and thereby made for an interesting comparison between the automobile and boat industries.
The insights provided by Roberto Giorgi, the CEO of Fraser Yachts, into the world of yacht management or those given by Erwin Bamps, CEO of Gulfcraft in the United Arab Emirates, were highly interesting as well. All in all, an excellent mix of lectures, characterized by self-assurance and in-depth specialist competence.
Later in the evening, the event moved to the editorial offices of publishers Delius Klasing Verlag, where the proceedings ended with an excellent buffet and highly interesting discussions.
Wolz Nautic will once again be contributing to the success of the event as sponsor in 2017. The event is already being looked forward to.
